Relaxed - tick; friendly - tick; fun - tick tick tick tick tick! About 30 people came along, with instruments, songs and a clear love of singing and making music together.

Within minutes of arriving, Luke nipped back home to fetch his cello and later in the evening he, Shell and Di performed a beautiful song that Shell had written. What was amazing, to me, was that they had never played together before.

De played guitar with some of her friends and sang a duet with one of them; Andrea brought her guitar, great voice and song book and we all joined in on some old favourites and had a go at some new songs.

Stevie was presented with a birthday cake and a rousing chorus of happy birthday.

Caspar arrived almost at the end of the evening but there was still time for him to do a couple of songs accompanied by his ukelele.

The event didn't really need an MC - it sorted itself out, thanks to the lovely people who came along.

Right at the end of the evening the cry went up: "Can we do this again?" "Outside? With a campfire?"
