Polytunnel - June

I WILL arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the mourning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

It's the 4th of the month again, already, so here's how the polytunnel's doing - my version of a bee loud glade!! It's getting quite full! On the left, the blue strings are where my cucumbers will hopefully be climbing, then there's broadbeans, peas, carrots, beetroot, tomatoes, basil and coriander and the vine; on the right are more broadbeans, calendula, peppers and aubergines, spinach that's gone to seed, sweetcorn and rocket. We've had a few broadbeans and the peas are fattening up.

I'm still trying to get the tag thing sorted - sorry Dotty and Chaiselongue, you told me how to do it but it's still not quite working. You can see them all here but you seem to get a lot of other stuff too.

Another glorious day here - planted out my sunflowers and hollyhocks - cue for squadrons of slugs to arrive in the night. We went to Annabel's cafe for an alfresco lunch - it was wonderful - Greek salad and hummus - all that was missing was the Retsina (Jord, would you take orders??). Back home and a monster lawn mowing session took place, both of us hard at work - I have a flymo hover thingy and himself has something larger and fiercer. Now the garden looks wonderful and time for something sparkling and a big fat salad :)
