Warmth like none other

We walked out the door at 9am this morning to 68 degree (F) weather. Something absolutely unheard of in these parts. Summer here equals sun + wind. But today was lovely. Really, really lovely.

The boys and I headed to the nearby Empire lakes (just about 2 miles or less from our home). They played on the sandy beach, jumped and waded in the water and searched for bugs.

Next was peanut butter milkshakes at Bay Burger...the locals will be jealous on that. My husband was busy all morning getting ready for a lovo. A lovo is the Fijian version of the Hawaiian Luau. We decided to check in on him. It was a great place to play for the boys with giant hills (where I snapped this shot), more bugs and lots of sun.

As we were heading home to eat some lunch, My Mind's Eye rang me, and we decided to meet up at Sunset Beach. More sun, more water, more sand and good company. The boys were in heaven.

Once we made it home, all three of us crashed for a nap and didn't wake until almost 6pm. After eating our share of the lovo meats and veggies, we are ready to head off to bed.

P.S. Got my first sunburn of the season. Definitely a good day.
