The first recorded watermelon harvest occurred nearly 5,000 years ago in Egypt.

Watermelon's official name is Citrullus Lanatus of the botanical family Curcurbitaceae. It is cousins to cucumbers,pumpkins and squash.
By weight, watermelon is the most-consumed melon in the U.S., followed by cantaloupe and honeydew.

The gangs all here on this sunny Sunday, birds and small beasts, enjoying the special breakfast offerings. T's on a bike ride now and I'm heading back to the patio with a book. My bone on bone knees won't let me ride my beautiful carbon fiber road bike from a decade ago, something I'm sad about, but it was fun while it lasted and we rode many miles together.
