Thursday 20 March 2008: Ship's Bell
Since ages an important instrument on every ship. In fog as warning for other vessels (still mandatory according the law) and as a signal device when dropping anchor. At every lenght of anchor chain (27,5 mtr), the ship's bell is sounded once. Therefore ship's bells are always found on the bow of a ship.
