Wednesday 19 March 2008: Road Trip
On Tuesday after work we went to the Kings Theatre to see a comic version of "The 39 Steps", which I greatly enjoyed. I had to drive down to Birmingham afterwards though, and I was at an event there on today. Having not been in that part of the world for a while, I had forgotton just how dismal the traffic can get.
I hate motorway service stations. They are so utterly dismal and soul-less, not to mention ridiculously expensive. I stopped at this one briefly, next to a souped up car with thumping bass leaking from it, surrounded by sodium lights and concrete. I was tired of diving, but even so getting back in the car to leave didn't cause me any sorrow at all...
