Monday 6 June 2011: Harry the Horse - menacing but sleepy
This is our tubby three year old cat Harry the Horse. I am a great believer in naming any pets after characters in Damon Runyan short stories. So now we have Harry the Horse and Liver Lips Louis, and previously we've had a canary called The Lemon Drop Kid. We got Harry to replace Society Max, who packed his bag and left for a quieter house when the builders were in.
Booking Harry into the vets is a comedy script that pretty much writes itself:
Me: "I'd like to book my cat in for an appointment please."
Vet's receptionist: "Certainly. what's his name?"
Me: "Harry the Horse."
Vet's receptionist: "????!"
