Mountain Bike World Cup...

The Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William is 10 years young this weekend. We packed the tents and headed up.

It was a great day. I headed up with Mr Work Spend and friends on the gondola to walk down the course. We were walking down during practice so saw a few people throwing themselves and their bikes down some very precarious looking track at unfathomable speeds. We took the best part of two hours to walk down the route of the course even with my jogging* the last quarter or so. The fastest of the winning riders were doing the course in under 5 minutes.

I took the kids up the gondola a little later in the afternoon. They loved it. Grabbed this shot, cheeky wee ice creams at the bottom station and then back down on the gondola again. Nae danger I was taking them down the course.

This is taken quite near the start so as you can see the set off at a blinding pace and they were all taking this line across one of the corners near the top.

Got back to the campsite just in time to get the tents flung up and crack open a few chillaxing brewskis over some lovely barbecue scran at the hands of the Jeepos.

*I stupidly took the lunch up the mountain whilst Mrs TFP and Juniors stayed at the bottom. We were a lot longer getting down than anticipated.
