The Lizard Meanders

Fresh, Green

In summer, when it is searing hot, the tongue craves fresh, green tastes.

*

There is no season when I do not feel that the spirit craves what is light, and not heavy.

*

I made a green papaya and cherry tomato salad with a dressing of lime, some fish sauce, and chili powder, to go with dinner tonight.

*

And please take time to head over to Marly Youmans' blog, The Palace at 2 a.m., where she has kindly included a little feature of me and my creative process (the daily poems I have been writing since November 20, 2010 and which are archived at Dave Bonta's Via Negativa site)-- in her "House of Words" series yesterday.
