Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Home Again

This is referring to Scorpido, this Peterson 44 (on the left) that arrived back in our slip on Lake Union(across the street from our condo) a few days before we got home this time. 5 years to the day from when she left from this spot to sail the globe! We have yet to catch her owners, who I'm assuming are enjoying being on terra firma, but know we will be treated to even more adventure stories soon! A medium day in Seattle - you can see a float plane landing just to the left of the space Needle. (I don't even hear the float planes, -we have as many over our island...)

Being home for US means;
At 2 AM last night there were sirens and flashing lights in our bedroom window. A person had fallen from a neighboring balcony? or perhaps from the ladder that was out there ?(the story isn't yet clear!) Taken away on a stretcher...
Getting totally swamped in our rowing boat this morning while near the huge NOAA ship coming under the bridge where we row - not by that boat but by a medium sized motorboat suddenly in a big hurry.
And lots of traffic.
So much for the city....

Oh while I was writing this up just now, the doorbell rang and it was Mr. E, Scorpido's owner - we will happily get together with them in the next few days! Funny coincidence. I was right, Mrs. R has been happily digging in the DIRT at their little house which they had rented out while they were gone...

Ok - I didn't mean to be so wordy!
Off to babysit the boys tonight...
