Irish riviera

Unexpectedly nice day - the weather forecast was terrible but the sun is shining, the wind has dropped and it's quite warm. A very profitable day in the garden - weeding paths, planting out sweetcorn and himself has been strimming. Lunch al fresco with plenty of local strawberries - delicious. I took a break from the hard work and strolled down to the sea. This little beach is a secret!! No one else ever goes here and on a day like this it looks positively tropical! It has a little bit of sand, unusual for this peninsula, and is also a source of interesting and varied shells. It's nice to swim here too and I did pop my toes in but it was fecking freezing!!! I could see Luc in the distance in his boat but other than that all to disturb me were two very cross oyster catchers - oh,and something large jumped out of the water, I didn't see what it was but the ripples were impressive.

Had a very enjoyable evening in the Tin Pub last night - lots of wwoofers and couch surfers around mingling with locals. As usual, a very cosmopolitan summer community. There was a bit of music too, three guitarists and Rob on his bones!! Tonight we are off to Ballydehob for Klaus's birthday treat. A shower and glad rags are required. Will catch up anon.
