Saturday 11 June 2011: Blackbird with Becc....
.....spent a lovely evening round at Fiona and Nick's. They were hosting a preview of our good friend Becc Sanderson's upcoming Fringe Show. It was slightly surreal watching three great musicians do their thing in a front room....but this is a new town living room, so it coped damn well. In fact, Fiona should consider letting it out as a fringe venue.
Becc has a superb, rich voice and a great passion for jazz, Graeme Stephen on guitar is a master, and the late appearance from Becc's partner and great trombonist, Chris Grieve, made for a splendid finale. Top, top evening, I could hear little teary nostalgic sniffs coming from Nancy at my side. Thanks guys.
