Sunday 12 June 2011: Paraffin Pump
People still use paraffin heaters and lamps. This garage still has a paraffin pump on the forecourt. Do you remember "glass must be full..." on petrol pumps? I do. This pump makes a lovely click-click sound as it delivers the fuel and has a manual backup so you can pump it by hand.
Of course, when the last paraffin pump is gone, you can still use jet aviation fuel, which is essentially the same stuff.
