Adventureland

Keeping up the weekend's unintentional transportation theme, following up on Friday's stretched limos and yesterday's fishing boat. Today we found some sort of amphibious vehicle.

We had actually only headed out scouting for potential new locations to blip and got led to this one after it jumped out on a google maps browsing session.

It took a couple of go's to actually find the disused quarry (Powmill Quarry or 'Bluewater' Quarry) as it's not signposted at all, but eventually found access a short walk off the main road. The water itself is amazingly clear and is no doubt the reason the police underwater rescue teams, as well as other divers, use this for training and exploration. One of the great things about blipfoto, as I've no doubt mentioned before, is how it gets you out and about and scratching under the surface of the things we find. For example, we found out after we got back that this vehicle is one of probably 15 that are at the bottom of the water in here - including a completely intact caravan.

Euan was also taken by the millions of tadpoles that were swimming around (you might be able to see them if you go in close) and we'll no doubt be back to explore more as we had to rush off before we got to spend too much time here.

Might take my snorkel and flippers next visit.
