Monday 13 June 2011: UFO
As is frequently the case, I was busily looking at something else entirely, taken with the bright clear red of one of the salvias, when this guy just came hopping along. I think it's a brand new grasshopper. It looks totally out of proportion: the eyes are so big and the antennae are so short! The entire creature is only about a half inch long.
