Historic bell
This old steam train bell hails (peals?) from the mid-19th century and is located at the Aurora Train Station in Ontario, Canada. I've blipped the station before but not the bell. The plaque at the base reads:
FIRST STEAM TRAIN 1853
THIS STEAM ENGINE BELL WAS PLACED MAY 1963, IN AURORA'S CENTENNIAL YEAR TO COMMEMORATE THE ARRIVAL, FROM TORONTO, AT THIS PLACE OF THE FIRST STEAM TRAIN IN ONTARIO MAY 18, 1853
PROCURED BY THE BOARD OF TRADE
Another historic plaque with more information stands next to it.
