Thursday 16 June 2011: Voodoo
Dragon Flower, Dragon Arum, Voodoo Lily, Black Lily: Dracunculus vulgaris. I've been watching this plant for years now; it's hidden in a bunch of ivy at the base of a redwood tree on one of my walks. It blooms once a year, and apparently smells absolutely awful, although I've never had the pleasure.
