Watching "Old Faithful" erupt

hereWe've just returned from a little vacation in nearby Yellowstone National Park. Lots of people had the same idea, but traffic really wasn't all that bad. I first read of "Old Faithful" in elementary school and enjoyed remaking its acquaintance.

This was the first national park ever and was established by President Theodore Roosevelt, an elder cousin to FDR. It was truly amazing, with more geysers than anywhere else on earth. We only had a day but were still able to see and photograph bison ~ herds in the grand distance and solitary bulls up close (but not personal) ~ birds, smaller animals, waterfalls, hot springs and a grizzly bear!

The weather was beautiful until our drive home and time constraints led us to bypass much we'd have liked to explore, but it was a truly wonderful trip.

We didn't have the ability to post from the road, however, and backblips may be found here and here.
