Since the earthquakes which badly damaged the local theatre venues,there has been a dearth of performimg arts and live theatre is now being performed in venues such as this one in the grounds of Ricccarton House.This marquee seats 176 and has had two by one week seasons of "The importance of being earnest".The first seasons takings were donated to the Mayoral earthquake fund.
