Senior Way

This walk is not so named because it is aimed at senior citizens (though we are not far off!) It is named after the late Ron Senior who was instrumental in getting the walk recognised and signposted. It basically skirts the periphery of Cullingworth and although it is quite 'do able' in one we decided to divide it into 2 sections.

This path skirts the edge of Catstones Moor above Cullingworth, it then proceeds to Crossroads and up the 'Crag' to Brow Moor. We walked along the moor towards Oxenhope and where the route starts to double back to complete the circuit we decided to stop and leave the other half for next time. Here you can see moorland above the path and there is farmland below. I love these stone gateposts, especially when the gate no longer exists, as here. You can see markings on the one on the left, whether this is due to its original cutting or it has other significance I don't know

We were lucky, after a heavy shower at lunchtime it stayed fine all afternoon.
