Dark Day

It rained all afternoon, and more of the same is forecast for the next three days.

It did make the greens glow with an eerie light. This moss on the old stone retaining wall looked bright enough to use as a flashlight!

Tonight the zoning board will vote on the horrid issue of the farm next door, which wants to abandon agriculture and become a banquet facility/wedding venue. It doesn't look good at this point. We have fought a good fight, but the Board seems to be inclined to abandon the written bylaws and go in favor of change...they say it is inevitable and we should just learn to live with it. No matter to them that this particular proposed change includes blaring rock and roll music and hundreds of drunk drivers pouring out onto our little country roads when the parties are over. It seems like a "no-brainer" to us, and I guess it is to them too, in a different way!!! I'll let you know tomorrow what happened...
