Chaos and Calm

Rules and freedom

It's been a bit of a weird day. Pretty good for the most part. Master Four Year Old was well behaved. I'm in the middle of a new songwriting project inspired by what I ranted about discussed in yesterday's blip. Busy day, too.

After doing a lot of running around all afternoon, I decided to take advantage of what little sunlight was left, and hope for a decent photo. Too dark for the mannequins, though. And too wet. And too windy. Light faded too quickly for me to get more than eight photos. And only two were decent enough to keep. Goes without saying, today's blip is one of those photos.

It was a stunning sky. The tide was coming in, and I got a bit wet again, though nothing compared to Monday's efforts. And it got me thinking. So many things in the world are ruled by cycles. Everything just... Happens. Because it has to. But we are lucky enough to, for the most part, be allowed to decide. Choose. The position of the moon doesn't dictate what we do, like the tides. People go on about how it's a tough, strict world. It's not, really. Not for us. The freedom to come and go, do as we please should be something we are thankful for. Schedule and strict structure all the time just gets tedious. The only thing ruling us, is us.

"They will not force us.
They will stop degrading us.
They will not control us.
We will be victorious."
