Thursday 23 June 2011: Orange Crush

Came home at around half past eight tonight after my last lecture class of the summer session, and sat down to dinner.

Glancing up and out the kitchen window, saw the evening sky aflame with this most unusual orange glow.

Daughter I. ran to snap a few photos, of which this is one.

I don't know why, but this makes me think of Leonard Cohen's song "Suzanne" ...

And for those of you who may be following as I write my poem-a-day -- I began a new phase of the Morning Porch poem series for Summer 2011, which started on June 21, natch!
