Sgwarnog: In the Field

Moorland Orchid

It seems that this is the Common Spotted Orchid, but it's the first I've spotted on Baildon Moor, so it's special for me. Most likely this is because I've been looking in the wrong places.

After a walk in the mizzle, discovering cup-marked rocks, and failing to find ring cairns, this thing just appeared at my feet. Apparently there is a problem with orchid diggers on the moor, so I better hadn't tell you where it is, even if it is 'common'.

Apologies to yearofhappy for not managing to get along to the Lister Park blip meet - I hope everyone that went had a great time.

even ~ the common ~ spotted orchids ~ are rare ~ to me
