Tuesday 28 June 2011: Pop goes...
487/365: ... my last remaining bit of dignity!
I have colour popped an image.
On my list of 'stuff I try to avoid', colour popping takes its place with the following:
1. Cartoon-like HDR
2. Over-sharpened anything
3. Desaturated black and white conversions that are flatter than a pancake
4. Over-saturated scariness
5. Awkwardly posed family photos
Obviously, this is my own personal list of ick, and other people might deliberately do the above and pull them off. Me. Not so much.
So... colour popping = me scraping the barrel. Which means I've had a busy, busy day. Overlapping meetings. People late for meetings, which meant the meeting over-ran... and ended up meaning that any breath between meetings was gasped for. The majority of meetings were productive though and the ones that were more challenging at least provided food for thought!
Maddy, however, is still being an odd bod and I can't figure her out at all. Now, I know that I wasn't exactly the most straightforward of children either. And I certainly had a bit of a crisis when I was 7. But she is a bit of a mystery right now. We're going to see her teacher next week to have a chat, but I just don't know. She's happy. Then she's unhappy. Acting her age. Behaving like a baby. She absolutely hates change and to leave behind bits of her early childhood. It's like she's standing on the threshold of the next stage of her 'self' and clinging on to the doorframe. She can't really articulate what's wrong, but it's like seeing an internal battle going on. And she's exhausting herself in the process.
Hmmm...
No doubt time will reveal all, hey?
But it didn't reveal some of the dramatic weather other people seem to be having today - thunder and lightning and exciting stuff. We just got 'grey'. With a side helping of 'more grey'. At least it's cooler tonight... which is why I'm off to bed to catch up on the humidity-stolen sleep I've lost for the past few nights!
PS Also had some good news about a course I applied to tutor
PPS Celebrating involves an early night
PPPS Party on, me! :o)
