A Day in the Life of... H

Wednesday 29 June 2011: Beefy Chops

I realise most of my photos of Claudia these days are taken when eating. But it's easy!! I mean, she's strapped into a highchair which means I can get a shot of her when she's not running around like a drunken monkey strapped to a rocket.

Here she is enjoying a beefy stir fry - the first thing I've managed to cook since having Amy (bar a coconut and mango upside-down cake which, while quite tasty, has remained largely untouched; we're apparently not big cake-eaters in this house!)... I do love her. This face seems to be the ubiquitous "Clauds expression", even though she's been throwing some truly epic strops lately over quite literally nothing, she does have her moments, more often than not, of being gorgeous, huggable and so much fun.

She surprised me today by pointing at the lens and saying "camera". I only started saying "Claudia, look at the camera!" about a week ago, it's amazing how quickly she picks things up. She's also learned the number 11 today, although she can't quite say it properly (another drunken monkey analogy creeping in there perhaps?).

Amy is going through her 'ugly phase' bless her. Milk spots, little red spots, greasy skin and cradle cap. I remember the same with Clauds at about the same age, I suppose it's not surprising given the ridiculously large shift in environment for them, but I'm still cooing over how much she looks like a little boy and (hence) how utterly ridiculous she looks in girly clothes at the moment. New mum, anyone? Rose-tinted glasses? Never!

I'm feeling very mellow tonight, probably due to the (almost) glass of wine I've had (I've probably had 3 half-glasses in the last 9 months, I am truly a lightweight.) but life seems particularly good right now. Ask me again on Tuesday when the mister goes back to work, I will no doubt be telling a different story ;)
