TRAPPED

This is what a lot of Christchurch people are feeling like these days. Today we had action. Not really nice action. Power companies, electricians, telecom people and demolition people, joiners and builders, and also sightseers as the first stage of our "deconstruction" begins on our house.
Interesting conflict of feelings. The demolition man was mildly interesed, he is doing a whole city block at the moment, two large pubs, two very large and historic stone churches, the old airport terminal and then there is our house, which doesnt really register on their radar. His view is demo and dump as quick as possible. Not mucking around to save hundred year old timber or ornate features, as he has not the time. Time is money. I can understand that but it is not "nice" to have those decisions when it is your pride and joy he is talking about.
Mmm Trapped is a feeling we are not used to feeling. We are normally in charge of these sort of processes and the directions they are taking. Not these days.
Doesnt help when you have had little sleep due to aftershocks and also you went to the gym and did such unaccustomed exercises you feel slightly flu-ish as you are aching all over!

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN WITH LENSBABY AND HAS A TEXTURE APPLIED. IT DID INTERESTING THINGS WHICH LOOK BETTER IN LARGE ON BLIP. IS A GOOD ADDITION TO ITS SIMPLE SHAPES. BUILDING BEHIND IS A CHURCH SO I LIKED THE POINTY LOOK IT HAS LEFT ON THE HORIZON AS IT IS THE STEEPLE AND ADJOINING YOUTH CENTRE SHAPES.
