Heartbeats

If the Mont Royal is Montreal's heart, the tam tams are its heartbeat, actually some of its many heartbeats. Every sunny Sunday afternoon in summertime, they can be heard from avenue Du Parc, a faint rumble marking the summer. Standing next to the few dozens drums and tam tams and percussions of all kinds, one feels they penetrate the body to search the heartbeat until they create a deeply felt physical echo into one's heart. No picture can portray the rythm and the primal experience. Nor the mixture of smells, swet, smoked herbs of all kinds, patchouli, strong perfumes. But they are part of the delightfull experience, the smells and beats and pictures of life at its simplest. Beats, rythms, ondulating dancers, beautiful faces, heartbeats. Montreal's heartbeats.

P.S. À mon magnifique saxophoniste à la chevelure grise, je reviens vous prendre en photo. C'est promis.
