River Lathkill

Lovely morning to be out fishing and I couldn't imagine anywhere more beautiful to fish than the Lathkill.
This is a picture of one of the pools on the bottom beat and a great pool it is too.
It's not a big river by any stretch of the imagination but the trout and grayling don't seem to mind and grow to a really good size, it's not uncommon to get 2lb trout from here.
The river is gin clear so you have to keep out of sight and literally crawl along the river bank. But if you manage to get a cast in with very little disturbance you will be well rewarded. A fish caught from here is always well earned.
The wildlife is abundant as it's like an oasis as very few people walk this way.
This morning there were coots, ducks and moorhens with their offspring, scuttling everywhere. I even got to see a mink crossing a footbridge.
