Woven Willow

Went to my best man's wedding, in north Cumbria, east of Carlisle and just 4.5miles south of the border. Very rural location - we had lunch in a cafe in Longtown, less than 10 miles away, and they'd never heard of the village where the church was....

The reception was very informal, and fun, on Esther's parents farm. We had a BBQ in the old cowshed. They'd hung some lovely floral fabric from the walls, bunting and laterns from the ceiling, and made willow arches for the doorway, with these big willow circles in the gaps in the wall, strung with solar-powered fairy lights which came on as the light faded.... Such a beautiful atmosphere!
