Was It Really So Long Ago

The Good Egg

A deserving winner stands apart from the others at the Tendring Hundred Show today. This speckled beauty left the other eggs feeling decidedly browned off.

This is the only agricultural show in the village and it attracts around 25 000 people annually. Its the usual fayre for such a show, animals, food, tractors and Pimms.

We had a great day, taking in the attractions until summer announced its arrival in the form of a heavy shower. The nearest marquee housed the poultry, which we admired at length. I busied myself with the camera, whilst the girls did their best to open as many tombola straws as possible. Three pounds and fifteen straws later, we'd won a wicker basket of eggs and another containing a cuddly duckling.

I hope you like it.
