"I learn it from a book"

I love that line of Manuel's from Fawlty Towers.

Except, much of what I think I have learned wasn't from a book. Especially in work. And music.

It was from the immediacy of living, of trial and error. Perhaps more error than trial.

But then there's things I do learn from a book. From a book with words of life. From a life lived in nothing other than love, for the demonstration of grace and mercy.

Why the book metaphor? I got gifted this when chatting with some McColleagues at 8:30 this morning. Gifted because it was gathering dust and I thought it was pretty slick.
