Wednesday 13 July 2011: Pass the Roach on the Left Hand Side

Manual focus through canal water is.... interesting. There were also Perch (both identified by a fishing colleague when I got back to the office), and neds fishing for them (I had a chat with one, but didn't think to ask if they actually gutted and ate the fish).

Not a bad day. Good feedback from work from my boss's boss; sun on a lunchtime wander; second place on the quiz (which could/should have been first had we not changed two answers)... And possibly offending a friend driving us home when she just had to get in front of the cyclists before getting to a red light (her responses of 'he didn't have to deviate his line' and 'what if the lights had turned green?' left me slightly flummoxed - the usual response being that cycists are slow). I need to work on my calm and considered reasons why cutting up someone on a bike like that is just utterly pointless, and even if the lights had turned green saved roughly two and a half seconds on the journey time.

I'm not sure I'll be offered a lift again, but what sort of hypocrite would I be if I didn't mention what I thought to be a poor bit of driving (from a usually excellent driver!) just because she's a friend? Then again, would I have said anything had I not indulged in beer? Erm...
