Thursday 14 July 2011: Flower of Mystery
This is the only white lily in a clump of yellow ones under the pear tree. Since I really don't remember planting them I can't explain it, and I can't account for the pink ones out back either. Once upon a time we kept a very thorough garden journal, but we abandoned it years ago, so there's no place to look it up. Oddly enough at lunch today Mr. Soozaday brought up that very topic, and once again we have a big calendar out in the shop--the trick is to write in it after you're done digging and trimming and planting and harvesting. And first you have to find a pencil.
