4-mast barquentine tall ship

BE Esmeralda is a steel-hulled four-masted barquentine tall ship of the Chilean Navy.

San Diego Union-Tribune excerpts, written by Nathan Max:
The second-tallest and longest sailing ship in the world represents a lot of things to the Chilean navy.
The Esmeralda which docked at the B Street Pier on Tuesday, is first and foremost a training vessel where new officers learn the ways of the sea. It's become an emissary of goodwill, used by the South American country to show off it's culture.
And the more than 60-year-old ship....is the first Chilean vessel on which women can serve....
The 113-meter-long, 14-meter-wide and 48.5-meter-high ship that has four masts and uses 21 sails left Valparaiso, Chile on May 15. Before returning there Nov. 6, it will have made 12 stops in six countries and traveled 26,473 nautical miles.

note: BE is Buque Escuela = school ship
