Lily!
This is the beautiful Lily.....she was rescued from one of the kill pens in the USA....and now she lives in a lovely part of Cape Breton Island, with Jitka!
Rocking Horse Ranch , close to Baddeck is owned and run by Dale - this woman knows horses! She rescues many horses from various kill pens around the States, brings them back to her ranch and helps to rehabilitate them with the hopes that they will find a good and loving home!
My friend Jitka took Lily home with her just a week ago! We were over there this evening for dinner and got to meet Lily! She is so beautiful and graceful...she used to be harness racing horse until a few months ago. I don't know much more about her story, other than she is about 10 years old and has never been ridden with a saddle! Jitka has a passion for horses and is planning to spend the summer getting to know Lily and the winter time, at the Rocking Horse Ranch, getting some training in how to get her to a point where she can be ridden!
What a great evening we had. Friends of Jitkas, from Ohio, created this amazing chicken dish....it was so delicious....Richard even licked the big platter at the end of the meal....he was encourage to do so!!!
