Football Tournament

Another football tournament for Wills team today.

They split them into two teams with no subs for this so it was good because everybody got loads of football. Both teams did well getting to the semi finals against a very good team three divisions above them, that had also split their team in two. So no disgrace in getting knocked out then.

It was a miserable day weather wise and a lot of the event reminded me of everything I hate about kids football. Over zealous refs that gave the first red card I've ever seen at this age level for an instinctive handball in front of goal that ended up with all parents from both teams booing the ref for it! So unnecessary in a friendly tournament. There was also the usual whispers about certain kids not being good enough even though they did nothing wrong and their kids had hardly shined!

A semi final, only one goal conceded all tournament and Will joint top goalscorer. I know I'm proud of them. Well done kids.
