Sunday 3 July 2011: Drinking it all in
The apartment is great, and the district is very lively - though that made for a very noisy and broken night's sleep...
The kids are dying to see the Colosseum, so off we head, via the Capitoline Hill and a good lunch. The place is even more impressive than we remember, though the kids are convinced the experience would be improved by a cheap plastic sword!
In fact, they're most impressed by the incidental things, like the stray cats at the ancient monuments, and the drinking fountains.
