Tuesday 5 July 2011: Two out of three ain't bad
The day begins with a torrential downpour: grey skies and thunder and lightning. Suddenly the planned open-top bus tour doesn't seem such a great idea.
We head to the centre via the market at Campo di Fiori, where the boys get footie tops as well as free samples of fruit! We come across a great exhibition - wooden models of Leonardo's inventions, which the boys are fascinated by.
Lunch in Piazza Navona, then on to the Pantheon, where we're lucky enough to hear a concert. After a visit to the Time Elevator telling the "5D" story of Rome, we go to the Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps.
The boys all ensured they'd return by throwing a coin in the fountain...though not all at the same time.
