Boat mould

This boat mould is at Keighley Tarn, a well known and used lake on the hills above Keighley.

The tarn is a haven for local wildlife, particularly birds. We saw a coot on a nest with some newly hatched chicks being fed by the other adult.

Originally this site contained a Boatmakers Building, a Skaters Clubhouse and a cafe. The buildings fell into disrepair after 1936 and today all that remains is the outline of the outer wall and the boat makers mould.
