Wednesday 20 July 2011: Former RAMC Hospital Pimlico

This is the former Royal Army Medical Corps Hospital near Tate Britain. The buildings have been preserved as the home of the Chelsea College of Art and Design.

At the top of the tower you can see E R I for Edwardus Rex et Imperator, Edward VII King and Emperor.

Queen Victoria assumed the title of Empress of India and the last Emperor was George VI until Indian Independence in 1947.
