Monday 25 July 2011: Blue kisses...

514/365: ... or 'blurry fruit'

[details of the shot over on my Kinda Before Horrigans journal]

I think this is vaguely sharp. I hope it is. But everything else is in a haze of blur today because I still have conjunctivitis and this time it's in my left eye - and managing to be worse than the conjunctivitis I had in my right eye yesterday. Gah! It's at the stage now where I can barely open my eye and I ended up leaving work a bit early because the constant 'sorry... sorry, I keep wiping my eye... sorry, I am listening it's just my eye... sorry, no, I'm not crying... sorry, it does look horrible...' moaning I was emitting just wasn't nice. Plus, it was getting worse and the thought of driving with v. fuzzy vision wasn't working for me!

Basically, I'm typing this with one eye shut. My kids think it's funny. If my husband makes one more Popeye joke I will kill him. And I'm fed up of it already!

This is the stuff Mondays are made of. A background of grey weather with a splash of more grey doesn't make for exciting photos either. Also had a 'total plank' moment this morning when the petrol flap thingy on my car wouldn't open. I pulled the handle, went to fill it... and the flap was still shut. Went back to pull it again... back to the flap... still shut. At this point I'm trying to repress my panicking because I'm rubbish so my phone was dead and I had been running on fumes by the time I got to the pumps. I needed petrol. Pull the handle. Still nothing. Pull handle. Go check. Nothing. Try to prise flap open with key... bend key (obviously the ignition key because why wouldn't you wreck that?! *)... flap still shut.

Taking deep breaths and ignoring the early-morning audience, I decided to sit in the car to think about it for a bit. Went through the routine one last time. Pull handle. Pull. Pull. Ah. That's the boot opening then. Push the handle... petrol flap opens.

D'oh!

*head in hands*

I am the butt of every joke Monday decides to chuck my way!

PS And now my eye has decided to swell up and close itself
PPS I hope it's taking this time out to think about what it's done...

* miraculously the key still works!
