The Forsyte Saga

I bought the complete series of the Forsyte Saga after the death of Margaret Tyzack recently. A great actress who also had a terrific role in I, Claudius.

The Forsyte Saga is in Black and White and I think that lends itself so well to the period in which it is set. It is hard to remember that it was made in the swinging sixties just before the introduction of colour television. I've been hooked yet again by excellent performances. It had 26 episodes which allowed characters to develop slowly. The modern version is OK but it can never touch the original.

I thoroughly recommend.
