Carn Gorm Summit

It was Anna's birthday on Saturday, we went down to Pitlochry after work, and rested up for a wee trek on Saturday.

We climbed up to Carn Gorm, the first of the Glen Lyon Horseshoe, a series of 4 Munros. This is a panorama from the summit, looking South-Westish (I think...I was a bit disorientated!)

We subsequently made it to 2 other tops (Meall Garbh and Carn Mearg), although by the time we reached the 3rd, the rain had set in, and we had to hunker down for 10-15 minutes. Little did we know that this rain wouldn't really stop for a good 24 hours! So, up to the cairn, we decided to get the hell out of dodge, and cut our losses after (eventually) getting down from the peak.

It was a long traipse down the valley to get to any kind of path, and even then, it wasn't an easy descent...sore knees and wetness causing some consternation. I have to admit, that once I get going, going uphill is easier than downhill.

Anyway, we made it back down, and our intentions of doing 5 Munros this weekend (Schiehallion was planned for Sunday) was shot to pieces.

We'll be back!
