Allergy (dis)appointment

Husband Dear and I just got back after spending a lovely day (9am-4pm) with Little Man at the pediatric allergist office. Aside of the usual skin scratch test (jabbing the arm with plastic toothpicks dipped in the essence of the potentially offending substance), we did an egg challenge. Little dude was eating bigger and bigger bites of scrambled egg in 20 minutes increments while the the lovely nurse took his vitals between each bite.

The good: still sensitive to egg, but not likely to have an all-systems shut down when eating something that has some eggs in it.

The bad: allergic to cockroach poop (I kid you not; apparently a big one around here), indoor mold, outdoor mold, and dust mites.

Good luck to me.

At least I got a cool shot of the kid, reading the Sporting News under the picture taken at Lou Gehrig's retirement ceremony. Which now is making me think perhaps a little roach poop allergy is not the end of the world. Read the speech Lou Gehrig gave here.

Edit: information on Lou Gehrig (if you happen not to be into baseball) can be found here.
