Unity

Locals lined the four-mile length of today's North London Unity March between Hackney and Tottenham.

Some joined us. Others, like these, were just bemused. By the end I knew how they felt.

It was unequivocally set up as a positive community event in the wake of the last week's unrest. The procession was led by local children.

But the usual SWP suspects could not help themselves, megaphoning their divisiveness as we made our way through neighbourhoods that are still traumatised.

Trots don't do unity. They just flog papers.

I wormed my way into the heart of the crowd
