Sun spots

Pretty sky tonight, and actually a pretty good description of today's changeable weather. It's been a lovely day, with church in the morning and evening and a birthday lunch for Virginie, a friend from church, in the afternoon. Good food and good company - what more can one ask! The Banner group's latest project (see projects 1, 2, and 3 if you're interested) was launched officially too (though we've been working on it for a couple of weeks now). Our next banner/project is celebrating the upcoming changes in the church, particularly the appointment of a pastor (have just realised I don't think I ever said that the result of the vote was an overwhelming yes, and he starts at the beginning of September) and we are planning to hang bunting all around the church - but bunting on which a hope or a prayer for the future of the church is written on each flag by someone from the church. Bible class members did theirs today, but many of the church are still thinking. There will be a banner to go along with this, but we are keen to get the whole church involved in the creative process! Stephen McQuoid of GLO was with us at both services today helping us think through what our mission is and what we need to do to achieve it. Exciting times, we're really looking forward to seeing what God can do through and in us. It was really good to see Stephen again and chat about some things we're both involved in, and to be reminded how great God is!
