Night on Amsterdam Avenue

We went out to dinner tonight with good friends Jane and Marty, in our mutual neighborhood on New York's upper West Side.

I took this blip afterwards, just south of West 93rd Street. The restaurant in the foreground is a kosher steakhouse (our area has a substantial observant Jewish population). The patrons eating outside were brave, since we'd had at least a couple of downpours during the afternoon. In the left rear is a Seven-Eleven convenience store (ubiquitous at least in the entire Northeastern U.S.).

My wife and I lived until 2003 in the next block on 93rd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.
