Sunday 21 August 2011: Pipevine Swallowtail
Back in May I was fortunate enough to visit a local project devoted to the restoration of this creature and its habitat, Aristolochia. Today I got to go back and see one of the newly emerged butterflies. Like all of us here these days, he was waiting for the sun, which made him a patient unmoving model. I was intrigued by my host's camera gear, particularly the various flash units, which are now on my covet list.
