Gruve 6

There's something so awesome about decaying industry.

As a child in Kidderminster a favourite past time of mine was to explore the old carpet factories and side tracks to the local steam railway. I find the tangled, rusting masses of old work equipment and machinery fascinating.

This is Mine 6 (Gruve 6), midway through Adventdalen. I believe the mine closed in the mid 80's and thus a large proportion still remains as a playground, which is excellent to explore.

The photo is taken just next to the wheelhouse for the great hillside railway which runs just out of sight, in the lowermost right of the picture. The crane is opposite the main entrance to the mine where the abruptly ending tracks enter the building in the foreground.
